Great little buck converters
I'm a big fan of these little LM2956 buck converters. They're pretty much the backbone of all my projects that require a buck converter. Matching is decent and output noise is not an issue for most of my circuits. In the few cases where this was a problem, a fast and dirty LC circuit calmed the situation down immediately (I'd love to see someone make a negative voltage version of this).
