Review on 🐠 Aqueon Submersible Aquarium Heater: Optimal Temperature Control for Vibrant Fish Health by Cristina Villanueva

Wild temperature fluctuations

I have one of these in my 75 gallon cichlid tank and it seems to be maintaining my temperature +-1*F as advertised. Unfortunately, my 55 gallon tank is a different story. Lately I've noticed the temp has gone up to 82*F, I turn it down and then it never seems to turn on and the tank ends up in the mid 70's at room temperature. There is a strange clicking sound coming from the tank, and the heater normally turns on. I've also noticed that some air bubbles come out of the heater when it's adjusted, so it's obviously no longer waterproof or truly submersible. After reading other reviews it seems like this model has had a history of problems, this bad one only lasted 4 months and is totally unreliable in my eyes at this point. If you look at the price, you can see them starting at $45 in retail stores, but the model number is a little different. I think you get what you pay for. MAKE A BETTER AQUEON!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Good but not great
