I bought these gloves to match the chimney and add firewood. When I was looking for gloves, I wanted a pair that could grip logs and coals without fear of escaping heat. After a few fires I can report that they are indeed heat resistant enough for what I need. With these gloves I could easily move logs and even scoop hot coals. I have found that holding the log for about 5-10 seconds makes you feel warm. However, I'm not sure why you would want the log to burn longer. They also appear to be durable, not wearing out after about 10 fires. Overall I would recommend these gloves if you are looking for a pair for a fireplace or log fire.
