Believe it or not I bought these for our teething dog who loved to fight with gloves on. They are awesome and I'm a welder and they would be awesome for heavy duty welding feels good looks good I don't think you are wrong

Great gloves but if you pick up something hot you can feel it and then it doesn't recover quickly and you get burned. So basically, don't reach for the hot coals or baffles from the grill and you're all set!

Great gloves that fit well. I use them to load my wood fireplace and they hold up well. I like the longer 16" as it protects more than just the arms and wrists. They hold the heat well and I would definitely recommend them. The only reason it's 4 stars and not 5 is because I wish the cuffs were a little bigger to better match the coat but still doable.

Nobody Else Mentions the Smell! At first I just thought "new skin" but they just don't "air". When I hung it in the living room, the smoke was so heavy it burned my eyes. Have hung them outside to air but it's been over a week and they still stink. Last night I tried hanging them up by the wood stove again, but today they're out again. I wonder if burying them in dry mud or a clean litter box would help? Anyone have any suggestions?

I bought these gloves to match the chimney and add firewood. When I was looking for gloves, I wanted a pair that could grip logs and coals without fear of escaping heat. After a few fires I can report that they are indeed heat resistant enough for what I need. With these gloves I could easily move logs and even scoop hot coals. They were great when I first bought them but after only 2 months of use they just don't deliver the heat protection they promise. I don't even use them for welding - I use them when adding or rearranging wood in my wood stove and while they worked great initially, after a few months the gloves especially feel like they're falling apart completely on the inner lining. Okay, that's a really unorthodox review. I understand these are welding gloves. As far as I know, they are for heat resistance. But I bought them because of the great price and deal. These are Kevlar lined gloves designed to keep the heat out. Well, Kevlar is also used as cut protection.
