Review on Height-Adjustable Stand for MacBooks & Laptops - Twelve South HiRise for MacBook by Shane Solorzano

Maybe my expectations were too high. Twelve South has a great reputation in the Apple community, but this product didn't live up to my expectations. First, it looks better in pictures. I thought the finish would be a good powder coat, it looks like it was painted gray and you can see the "orange peel" all over the base. The piston, which becomes visible when you lift the levers, looks highly polished in the photos. I have severe oxidation. The device I received may have sat on a shelf in a warehouse for some time. Not sure. It's functional. From an aesthetic point of view, it is inferior to their other products. If you're paying a premium, you should be getting a premium product with a premium look/aesthetic - HiRise doesn't meet that criteria.
