Review on ๐Ÿ“ฑ Black USA Spec BT45-TOY Bluetooth Phone & Music Interface: Enhancing Connectivity and Audio Experience by Atheendra Wroblewski

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works fine, no support.

Works very well in the end. Works as expected and I was able to keep the CD changer functionality on the factory radio. I installed it on a 2004 Toyota Tundra 4-Door Limited with factory JBL sound system (no rear entertainment system). The instructions did not say how to install this on a JBL system and I have never had a response from USA-SPEC customer service despite numerous calls. I finally figured it out myself (I'm good at it). Simply plug this unit into an empty outlet near where the truck's wiring harness connects to the radio. The factory radio display shows the device as "CD1" and the factory CD changer shows "CDC". Song information is shown on the radio display. You still have to select your "playlists" on the phone itself, but you can use the Track Up and Down buttons to skip to the next or previous track. The phone navigation sound is also played when you use Google Maps, for example. Pandora exists too. Incoming calls will interrupt whatever you're listening to (including the radio, cassette, or CD changer) by loudly announcing the incoming call (instead of the name), but you can disable this feature. Press the track up button to answer the call, press the track down button to end the call. Bluetooth audio quality is very good, apart from the quality you get from a directly connected phone. Great solution to add Bluetooth to these vehicles if you don't want to replace the factory radio.

Pros
  • Bluetooth Car Kits
Cons
  • Weak Kit
