The first one I bought had a vacuum gauge even with the ports open. Instead of returning it I thought maybe I could just take the needle out and zero it but the needle wouldn't come off so I sent it back and bought another one. The second didn't hold a vacuum. It turned out that the Schrader valve core was leaking. I replaced it with one of my old bike tubes and it worked. The non-return valve in the pump also looks of dubious quality. Wrong soft polymer fastener that looks like it's about to fail. The rod that pulls the piston rod is also drilled off-center, so the piston pulls out at a slight angle. The pump is now running and very cheap but expect trouble to get to this point.
