Camera works great, the app.not so much.

I bought this camera to help with crate training my severely anxious dog. The plan was to pull up the camera and reward him by coming back when we was calm. The problem is that the app the camera uses is terribly unreliable. It only connects to the camera maybe 20% of the time. When it does connect, the connection is stuttery. Before you say "Maybe your connection is bad!" I can promise you it isn't. Our phones can connect to any other app or run any stream perfectly. We can't even connect to the camera while we are in the same house! Some other features worth mentioning: the microphone on the camera is alright. I can understand most things that are said in the room. However if I use the app to talk to someone in the room, my voice becomes garbled and unintelligible. It's easier to just tell into the mic then try to talk to someone. The camera boasts having a flexible stand so you can turn and move it. It is flexible but it takes alot of work to get it to stay in a position you put it in.The camera quality is actually surprisingly good, which is what we needed for the camera.I suppose you get what you pay for. If the app wasn't so garbage, this would honestly be a 10/10 buy, but because the app is so garbage, it's not worth it.

Pros
  • The Geeni Look is built to last, with a durable design that can withstand accidental bumps and drops
Cons
  • May not be able to capture video at all times due to software issues
