I try never to pack hot food (e.g. soup) in bags. I let it cool and then pack it up. No leaks in the freezer or fridge from the bags. I've used them for lunch on camping trips, for snacks when traveling, and I keep soup and other groceries in these bags. The only downside I found is that they don't dry quickly. I've had my original set for about 2 years and still use it. I recently ordered more. *** Update - after only 3 uses one of the pockets has a hole. That's a problem, thank god I put oatmeal in the bag, not liquid. I'll give him another two months to see how the rest of the bags hold up. (For this reason I changed my overall rating from 5 stars to 3 stars.
