Yes, it works for all types of phones. A lot depends on the type of case you have to be able to hold your phone well. But the grip is pretty strong. Great that it has screw holes on the long and short sides. Works well with any tripod with a standard screw. I used it on a mini tripod for a large family photo. Both of the included items fit comfortably in a medium-sized handbag.
