It is necessary for reliable attachment of the ATV.
I like that the rails I chose were galvanized. I live in the Northeast where rust has a strong impact on metal. The rails had many holes, which made assembly easier. I applied a thin coat of spray rubber to the bottom edges of the chain to prevent the aluminum tag from corroding again. A very strong product.
