Review on Enhance Your Audio Experience with Westone Audio W10 Single-Driver True-Fit Earphones in Black by Craig Edwards

Great Sound Westone

Great Westone sound. This is a replacement for an old pair of Westones I've had for years and the sound quality is better. However, interchangeable cables are problematic. The connector used to switch between the phone cord (with built in mic and volume control) and direct listen-only cord was VERY difficult to unplug. I changed the cable once, then back again. But I must have done some damage in the process because now I have an intermittent click on the wire. I've found that I could twist it a bit to fix the problem, but the damage is done. Really freaked out about that. In any case, be very careful when changing cables. The plug is VERY HEAVY and challenges you to apply destructive pressure. EDIT: I forgot to mention that the hard case that Westone includes is cute but poses a serious threat to their product. It hurts to close the case without pinching the cable. So I immediately stopped using their hard case and bought a small molded zippered case (Gilcon) from Revain to replace it. The zip pocket has a lower profile, is lighter and safer for the headphones. //EDITI combined them with some special silicone ear tips from Avery Sound. Isolation and comfort are excellent. I regularly wear them for long periods on international flights (I even sleep in them) and they fit great.
