It's nice, but there is still work to be done

I like this concept. This is a fun way to get kids involved in literacy learning; Matching upper and lower case letters and determining the initial phonetic sounds. My daughter will enjoy spending an hour on this activity. She likes to match items with the appropriate letter and "hide” them in acorns. I like color coding objects with letters. For example, the letter A is red with a red cap and red apple. The child has more opportunities for self-correction. Cons: - Acorn lid doesn't close completely and items often fall out. I feel like the lid design has a lot of room for improvement. Purple letters are difficult to read on a brown belly. The shades almost blend together. Similar structures of letters of the same color. For example, M and W are both red. Even though they have a line at the bottom to tell them apart, my daughter (along with many young children) still confuses them. It would be easier if they were different colors. The child will see the blue whale and realize that it does not correspond to the red acorn M, but to the blue W.
