Review on Baratza Encore Conical Coffee Grinder by Matt Chirila

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Best budget coffee grinder Um

As a pseudo coffee addict (which means I love good coffee but I won't pay too much for it), I was a little heartbroken to try the grinder on my 6th birthday to have a year old Breville Barista Express began to fail. I did a little research and found this to be a known problem with a plastic part that's almost impossible to replace (some people have 3D printed solutions that require ripping the device apart, but I'm not that patient or comfortable) , so here's my solution was to either replace the entire unit or just the coffee grinder. The economy won and I started studying coffee grinders. Because I make espresso shots, I have to use a burr grinder to get the smooth, finely ground coffee I need (I tried an old blade grinder we had laying around for a few days and the results were abysmal). I checked several summary reviews and the consensus is that Baratza Encore is the perfect combination of low price and great functionality. So I bought one (yes this is a recommendation based on a real purchase) and after a few days of use I highly recommend people on the market to try it. Right out of the box, the grind was more consistent and the perfect size than the old machine, and the recordings were some of the best I've had in a long time. Highly recommended!
