The switch in my ceiling fan has failed, so instead of replacing the entire fan, I went looking for a replacement. This fits the bill. It seems a bit pricey for such a small and simple part, but Lowe's doesn't have these 3 speed shifters. It works, my fan works fine now. A few things to know: - It can't be seen in the photos, but this particular switch is much thicker (about 2 times) than the old one. In my case it didn't matter, space was plentiful, but if your application is tight in that dimension you might run into problems. - The traction chain was significantly shorter than the old one. Again, it didn't really matter in my case because I already had an extension cord, but if you need to thread some sort of clip where there's no room for an extension plug, that can be a problem. Look for shaped labels. on 4 terminals - L, 1, 2, 3. Hopefully your old one has the same labels and as long as you connect the old wires to the appropriate points on the new switch you'll be fine.
