We are gradually phasing out single-use plastic in our household and the big surprise is: many alternatives are better than plastic! This is one of those cases. Bread goes moldy when stored in plastic. These cotton and beeswax bags are better in this regard. Cheese doesn't like being stored in plastic. These bags are also better for storing cheese and veggies! for example, beeswax bags are better than plastic (except for soup, but we have glass bowls for that). These bags can be washed in cold water. At the end of their useful life, we compost the bags on the compost heap in our garden. They really are biodegradable!
