Good news: It's very fast! The bad news is that it's very large and sticks out so much that I'm concerned it might get bumped and sometimes drop the Wi-Fi connection. Worse news and big problem: Despite numerous attempts over several weeks with their supposed help from technical support, he cannot update his firmware. I don't know if the problem is in the software on the TP-Link website or in the device itself. Eventually I got tired of numerous attempts, including the email with the firmware version of the installer software, which gave me prompts in Chinese (which I can't read), and sent them back to Revain. Legacy firmware has known security issues - if I can't update to the latest version, then I don't want to either. I ended up buying an Edimax AC1200 Wi-Fi adapter and it works great, very small, very fast (TP-Link has always been a bit faster), never drops connections and firmware updates with no issues!
