Fast connection even with multiple walls/floors between this WiFi adapter and my router. Installation on my Macbook was very easy and quick - basically just plug in and go! Please note that the USB extension cable is not included! For some reason I thought yes and didn't realize how critical it would be. On my 2013 Macbook Pro, this TP-Link wireless adapter blocks the headphone jack or HDMI port when connected to one of the USB ports. So now I'm ordering a USB extension cable! This will also…

The practical product is the best among network products

Bought this product for my husband's computer when he was not getting a very good internet signal even at home. Installed this little USB Wi-Fi adapter in about 3 minutes (to download the program for the first time). It captures Wi-Fi from an incredible distance. He has full power everywhere in the house and says his computer has never been faster. What he really likes is that it comes with a cable. So if he doesn't want the adapter sticking straight out of his computer, he can connect the…

Fast, but many questions. I returned it.

Good news: It's very fast! The bad news is that it's very large and sticks out so much that I'm concerned it might get bumped and sometimes drop the Wi-Fi connection. Worse news and big problem: Despite numerous attempts over several weeks with their supposed help from technical support, he cannot update his firmware. I don't know if the problem is in the software on the TP-Link website or in the device itself. Eventually I got tired of numerous attempts, including the email with the firmware…

Unreliable and unreliable connections

I bought this to upgrade my computer to 802.11ac for my home office. Unfortunately, the adapter is very unreliable and connection or connectivity issues often occur. When it connects to a 5GHz network, I get 802.11ac speeds, which is incredibly fast for anyone using the legacy protocol. However, the lack of a stable connection, dropped connections, and general unreliability of the connection rendered them unusable. Other reviewers have noted that this is not suitable for Windows 10. While it's…

Don't trust the software driver

I have Windows 8. I had to install the drivers manually so I go to TP-Link website and download the driver for the V3 hardware version which has the release date 2018-11 specified is -09. Today is December 26th, 2018. I download and install and my windows device manager says the driver date is 2018-2-12 with version 1030.22.202.2018. The product description says it can use 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz for 802.11a/b/n/ac, but my 2018 MacBook can see 5.0GHz networks and the default wireless "Auto" driver…

Most likely bad software or firmware on these devices

I've been having trouble with my wireless signal lately so I decided to install WAP above and replace my outdated Belkin N600 adapter. I ordered this TP-LINK adapter because the price was reasonable. After setting up my new WAP, I connected this adapter and downloaded the latest driver for Windows 10. The adapter status showed over 300MB in the driver, but I could never get the adapter to go over 70MB with the new WAP , although the speed of my internet is 150 MB. Even with my old Belkin…
