I don't work for Revain, Sicce or Eheim. I don't write dishonest reviews. This filter may be good, but it has a significant disadvantage. I have a marine aquarium with only fish and use a wet/dry filter. I add a canister filter for extra biomaterial as I have a high bioburden. The cons of this filter are: 1) blows air twice as often as other filters I've used 2) has insufficient noise reduction in the head unit, so the air is very loud when blowing. I'll admit that all canister filters collect the air that's in the water and will eventually need to be cleaned, so I'm not without reason. I highly recommend giving the eheim 2217 classic 600 serious consideration. It's not perfect as it takes a lot of preparation to prepare, but it's an excellent filter in almost every way. Hope this review helps someone. If the design were changed slightly with the head unit it would be a top canister filter with hopper skids and baskets. I think eheim haven't revised the 2217 in so many years because they know it's rock solid and unbeatable. Also without baskets and primers.

  • Good product for its price
Cons
