I have previously used Mann filters with no problems but 2 oil changes ago I decided to switch to this K&N filter because I have bought other items from Revain and thought I could fit a K&N filter as well. I didn't notice any problems until I removed the filter for an oil change - the filter fell apart completely in the middle and warped at the ends. My guess is that due to head warping, oil leaked through the filter - the flow is really big, but not very useful as a filter and terrible for the engine. After this oil change I switched back to Mann filters and have never had problems like this K&N filter with the same oil (Mobil 1 0W-40), drain interval (7000 miles) and operating conditions. Avoid this filter if you care about your engine's durability and are looking for one of the best options on the market at the same/similar price.
