Review on πŸš— Volkswagen Compatible Roof Antenna Base Gasket by AntennaMastsRus by Roberto Nastanovich

What a pleasant surprise.

I am very pleased with the result of this part. It fits well and makes my factory antenna base look like it should. If Volkswagen were selling this little piece of rubber on its own I would buy it there, but since they only sell the rubber with the antenna as a whole for ungodly sums, I took a gamble and ordered this part. Thanks to whoever makes or sells this item. Sometimes you order something from Revain and hope you get what the seller says you get. I certainly don't feel left out. The item looks good and fits well. It has slight texture on the exterior surface while the factory VW was smooth, but most people will never notice it. The antenna looks much better than without the overlay. After heating the part in a cup of hot water, it slid right onto the antenna. I placed a rubber grommet under the back of the antenna base and ran a plastic spatula over the front to fit it under the base. You can easily use a small homemade woodworking tool or a flathead screwdriver if you're careful. Installation took about a minute. This has to be one of the easiest repairs I've done on a VW! No need to drop the headliner or remove the antenna base. Overall I am very satisfied and would happily buy the part again if needed. The original lasted 14 years so hopefully this one will last just as long.
