Good 4 pin to 7 pin adapter with tester

I bought this electrical adapter with a Curt 58000 easy mount electrical mount. There is nothing wrong with the included mount. I installed this on a Toyota Sienna and didn't have anything that easily attached to the bracket that came with it. The 58000 connects easily and conveniently to a 2" receiver. The adapter fits easily into my existing 4-pin plug. I used 3-wire 12-gauge Lowes outdoor copper wire to connect the trailer's power and brakes to the front. I used the black wire to connect the adapter to a 40 amp breaker in the power line to the black wire before connecting to the battery. You'll need to buy some eye bandages if you don't already have them (I bought a kit from Walmart). I used the white wire to connect to the trailer brake adapter blue wire, but at the time of this post I don't need the trailer brake so it's covered in the engine bay. The reason for the 4 stars is because the adapter's white ground wire was too short to attach to the back of the car frame, so I cut the spade and connected it to the unused 3-wire copper ground wire and added a spade connector to the other end to establish a ground connection in the engine compartment. The tester's readouts are great and give you extra confidence that the tractor's wiring is still good, although as many have reported the 12v power LED stays on once plugged in. I taped everything and protected it by a plastic loom so it should be fine but time will tell how it performs in inclement weather.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
