12v LED stays on all the time, endlessly, draining the battery. You do not want that! When using a brake controller, the brakes are applied all the time because the brake test LED shows that you are applying the brake all the time. in time. The TEST LEDs themselves must have a switch. I am returning this bad block.

Fixed my trailer problem Part 2

05 Dodge Durango with trailer brake light problems for 4 years and no one could figure out what was wrong. This, along with another Curt product, fixed it (not to mention a good friend, the rustic country bumpkin, who is a wiring genius). Clean install. My only feedback is that the power supply is constantly hot, hence the little red test LED that is constantly on. Very low power consumption, but very noticeable when parking at night.

Good build quality and very functional

We bought this to use with our retractable camper and it works very well and feels solid. I like that the LED indicators show which circuits are currently in use and that there is a convenient location for the 4-pin connector. Installation is a breeze with the right accessories and we are very happy with the product. Only time will tell how it holds up with use and age, but the build quality gives me the impression I won't be disappointed.

Will not fit alone :-(

I wanted a good flush mounting bracket for both 4 and 7 pin plugs. The seven look great but I suspect they were replaced with other 4 pin plugs and never changed the bracket. The plug is great quality and perfect to fit snugly and snugly in a square hole but the hole in the bracket is a quarter inch longer and even if I put it in there and route it in place it can't go all the way in or blocks the seven pin connector. I'd like to get one from Hopkins instead - looks like it's properly designed…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

That's what he says.

I installed this with a clutch mount instead of the included mount but it still works great. The only downside is that the LED lights are on all the time as the 12 volts get hot all the time. If it had been all year the draw wouldn't have had a negative impact on my Dodge Caravan. People sometimes ask why I have little red lights on all the time, but most people are used to looking at them all the time. Of course, the good news is that if you have a problem with your trailer's brakes or lights,

A bit big but very helpful

The built in tester is what I wanted and it does the job perfectly. What they don't tell you is that the grommet at the end makes the connector too long to fit modern SUV hitches. My Subaru Ascent has the spare tire right behind the hitch, so the big plug just doesn't fit. I had to take the dremel out of the neck and give it a right angle. There's also an issue with the small 4-pin connector on the side. It just wouldn't stay in the hole so I had to glue it in. The wires on the 4 pin connector…

indicator lights or not?

Here is the information I would like to see in a review before purchasing. The only reason for a star is the warning lights. I bought these to replace the exact same one (without the light). When I saw that I could get built-in warning lights for only $3 I figured that wouldn't be a problem, but I was wrong! I have a '97 GMC Sierra that uses brake control for my trailer's electronic brakes. After installing this thing, the brake controller says it's connected to the trailer when it's not, which

Good 4 pin to 7 pin adapter with tester

I bought this electrical adapter with a Curt 58000 easy mount electrical mount. There is nothing wrong with the included mount. I installed this on a Toyota Sienna and didn't have anything that easily attached to the bracket that came with it. The 58000 connects easily and conveniently to a 2" receiver. The adapter fits easily into my existing 4-pin plug. I used 3-wire 12-gauge Lowes outdoor copper wire to connect the trailer's power and brakes to the front. I used the black wire to connect the
