Lately I would give 0 stars to all Libman products. I've noticed that they keep making products of lower and lower quality, labeling them as "new and improved". This wiping sponge filler is a prime example. I kept a couple of the old ones I bought just two years ago and they were pretty flimsy, just a half inch of real sponge on a green mysterious crap that just smears water onto the floor but doesn't soak it up again. Then I bought this replacement which now has a sponge about a quarter inch and larger than that useless green mystery crap. Another thing they've done with their products - sponges, brooms, buckets etc - is make them thinner and weaker which will shorten their lifespan and with sponge mops in particular they will change them a bit so that they are impossible to substitute for sponges, forcing you to buy brand new products and throwing flawless sticks into already overcrowded landfills. Why do we tolerate it? Let's boycott Libman and any other manufacturer who offends us, the consumer and our environment.
