Amazing Value - Computers and Accessories

I paid $37.99 for the 256GB model at the time of purchase, putting it on par with the competition. Unfamiliar with the metal variant of this flash drive, I bought the plastic variant first, not happy with the build quality shortly after receiving it. So I returned it and bought a slightly more expensive ($1 more) metal version. I can't stress enough how well worth the small premium - I was wondering why they made a plastic version with a lower build quality in the first place. Yes, as others have noted, the write speeds aren't the fastest compared to other flash drives, but they're in a different price range, so worth it and not worth chasing. Finally, I knew what I was buying. I wanted something reliable and durable and this product is exactly that. The rotating mechanism of this metal version is much more reliable than the plastic one. Despite what you might think, the metal version is superior to the plastic version in terms of heat dissipation (metal is a better heat conductor than plastic). The reality is that all flash drives get hot, and in my experience this unit only got hot under load. I transferred a 1.3GB 1080p video to the drive in about 12 seconds, so that's enough for me. Other reviewers find it a major issue that it takes 1 hour to transfer 60GB - just make coffee and watch some videos, why hurry? -C ends, making it so easy to switch between older and newer machines.
