So far this drive has worked fine for me. It runs hotter than any other flash drive I've ever used. It's hot even when you're not using it; This is probably due to the large amount of memory. It's a metal and appears to be able to dissipate some heat. If you're using it with a laptop, it's likely to affect battery life. So you might want to turn it off when you're not using it.

Good build quality (metal) USB C and USB A Comfort Decent speed Read speed: 160.992 MB/s (sequential, 5 tests average) Write speed: 53.89 MB/s (sequential, 5 test average) Ideal for portability and data storage on the go. Useful for most USB-C and USB-A compatible devices. Would recommend but annoying at how big the price difference is for this metal version.

Purchased to back up our Samsung Note 9 and S9 Plus with 256GB and 512GB SD cards. MUST be compatible with these devices. No phone recognized the hard drive. I can't fault this USB C/A drive. I like the plastic version except that it feels a little flimsy on the USB-A side, but the metal version is solid, heavy and I'm not worried about it wearing out over time.
