Review on SeaStar CCX20514 Evinrude Johnson Control by Todd Stone
Thicker, stronger and softer than OEM
I've had all sorts of problems with the controls on my 90hp Johnson outboard. I cleaned and lubricated the connections on the motor and the inside of the control box. It got better but was still sticky and liked to stick together. I bought these cables to replace the original cables. These cables are much thicker than the factory OMC cables but somehow easier to bend and route. Now that they are installed, the controls work as if nothing happened. I'm glad I spent the extra money on these cables instead of the standard or factory Johnson/Evinrude cables.
