I bought this unit to protect my trolling motor in the unlikely event of an over-pull. I installed this circuit breaker under the hatch on the battery and ran a 6ga wire from there to the trolling motor 15ft from the terminal block on the transom. I was initially disappointed as the terminal lugs on this unit are very small (maybe 3/16" in diameter?) and probably for 12 gauge or 10 gauge max wire). I got it anyway for my 6- Used gauge tips and managed to get a good connection.Everything seemed fine until a month later I manually turned on the switch to check.After doing this I couldn't get the trolling motor to run bring or even start again even though the meter showed 13.4V on the motor. There seemed to be voltage but not enough current to work.) I then checked the switch and it had a drop of about 0.5V, when it was installed and (most disturbingly) it was still passing 6-8 volts when it was off. This unit was only 60 days old and never got wet or shorted out. It just failed in a very weird way what doesn't leave me with confidence in its design. Eventually I took it out and everything was back to normal.
