Use 300A to protect a 3000W inverter and it can't handle more than 130A for a few seconds before tripping. The switch gets too hot to touch. It's a controversial 100A rating at best, maybe 110A.

Installed between my RV converter and the battery. Worked well for 2 months. However, I had to charge the batteries with a generator and noticed that I had very low amperage and output voltage across the batteries. I thought it was the converter but a quick test with a multimeter showed me a total converter voltage of 13.3 volts on the converter side of this switch and battery voltage on the other side. Some current flowed, but not much. And yes, it was in the on/active position of the circuit.

I probably got a bad one but it trips at around 150 amps. It's not starting the engine or anything else that suddenly increases the amperage. And when it turns off, you have to wait longer than the allowed time for it to stay on. It's a few minutes. Should be good and cool in seconds. If it worked properly, it would be good. Cool stuff! I have factory switches installed on my boat but I have never seen them like this. A customer came to me to add light bars and an extra fuse box to his Polaris Ranger 2019. I bought this unit to protect my trolling motor in the unlikely event of an over-pull. I installed this circuit breaker under the hatch on the battery and ran a 6ga wire from there to the trolling motor 15ft from the terminal block on the transom. I was initially disappointed as the terminal lugs on this unit are very small (maybe 3/16" in diameter?) and probably for 12 gauge or 10 gauge max wire).
