I wanted this to prevent my carpet from moving/clumping when my cats run down the hall. One day I wanted to rearrange the carpet and the tape completely ripped the fibers out of my carpet. That way it won't slip after you tape it in place, but unfortunately it will destroy your carpet if you try to remove the tape. The part of the tape that sticks to the floor also loses its adhesive properties if you try to change its position, which means that the part that sticks to the floor will no longer stick after the carpet is taped if you try to move it moving sticky, and then trying to remove the tape stuck to the carpet to replace it with another piece of tape tears the fibers out of the carpet.
