I was happy to see that it wasn't "pre-cut" as such inserts tend not to be that durable for everyday use. On the other hand, unless you have a very sharp knife with very long serrations, you should use a "hot knife" or, as I have done, a hot-bladed soldering iron (on low settings). I only cut where necessary to protect midi and mixer, the rest of the gear is left ok with the egg crate foam. You really can't go wrong in this price range. I'll see if they have one with wheels / more for other things.
