Review on Get Pierced Safely With The 2 Pack Self Ear Piercing Gun Kit by Gary Perry

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Easy to use, but mystery metal

The piercing tool came individually wrapped in a sterile pack; it was easy to use. The alcohol swabs that came with the pack were small, so I used my own.A few tips: Before actually piercing ears, play with the grip a little bit to get a feel of how much pressure needs to be used to close it— DO NOT press all the way because once the stud and backing meet, the piercing tool falls apart and you can’t put it back together again (to ensure one-time use only)Also, after marking the ears for piercing, don’t tug or pull the ear out to pierce because your piercings will be uneven.Lastly, aim to be quick and apply enough pressure to completely pierce the ear. If you hesitate, the back piece may not release from the tool and you will need to maneuver it a bit to separate them— not fun while you have a fresh new hole on your ear. When in doubt, have someone else do it for you.I give this product a 4/5 because I’m not sure what material the earrings are made of. When I asked if they were nickel-free, the seller replied with what the pack came with and what was ‘free’, so I don’t think they really understood my question. To avoid any reaction, I replaced it with a 14k gold earring. Also the kit came with 2 teeny alcohol swabs, which we’re useless, standard sized alcohol swabs would have been appreciated.

Pros
  • Earrings are hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive ears
Cons
  • May not stay in the proper position
