Spice Saver

Since the product description said they were food safe I decided to give them a try. I live in a high humidity area as I'm near several small streams and surrounded by forest on three sides. My spices always get lumpy and wet so they have to be thrown away. So I put a little packet in a couple of jars to try it out. At first I wasn't sure if they would work because they stayed blue for so long. Then my son lost the lid from one of the spice jars and I didn't notice until I used it. When I saw it turned off I was frustrated until I realized it was one of the cans I was experimenting with. I opened the shaker lid and pulled it out. It was pink and the spices were just right. Still very powdery, not a hard lump like usual. So I swapped it out for a new one and am very happy. This will save me a lot of money. If your jars are larger than the regular store-bought jars I use, I would suggest sizing up. With something like this always make sure you are using the right size product for what you are trying to protect so it can get the job done.
