I rented one of these units to do about 300 sq ft of laying. Floor parquet floor (cherry) and I had no problems. When we decided to install wood in a few more rooms I checked the price and that price seemed reasonable to buy instead of renting again. Owning this unit now makes installation less stressful for me as I am quite picky about fixtures, fittings etc and the lack of daily rental payments allows me to spend time on details like fencing fireplaces etc. I bought Revain and have one and started using it the same day it arrived. This time 550 sqm. Feet made of parquet (ash and birch), but no problem. Having used them and seen the "barb" on the design catch, I would personally use spikes and stay away from braces. Spikes aren't cheap, but when you consider the overall cost of a floor covering, there doesn't seem to be much point in skimping on fasteners. Insert one of these clips into some sort of crowbar and then try to pull it out. not an easy task. In fact, a couple of times when I messed up and had to pull one out, it was easier to cut it off with a flimsy Dremel wheel. As for the air leak, I thought I had an air leak problem on my mind at some point; When I turned on the compressor, only air came out. Then I noticed a label on the tool that says something like "power head must be up when applying air". I pulled it to the top position, tried again and no more problems. Simple enough, and I think most people who've done a lot of flooring know this, but thought I'd mention it as 1) The label comes off pretty easily 2) I'm wondering if this was an issue that some of dissatisfied users had . with air loss? The local flooring company only rents this space and has been renting for some time so I have to believe they are quite durable. We have used this flooring in three large rooms with no problems and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.
