Review on 🧱 Enhance Creativity with EKIND Classic Building Block Plate: A Timeless Toy for Endless Fun by John Talcott

Legal LEGO sand baseplates are outrageously expensive and I've had a choice of building a very small beach as part of my LEGO City using the sand baseplates I have or trying to find a suitable substitute. Color: not a perfect match. As you can see, the eKind plate has a different tint (almost a green tint). It's much less noticeable from the outside (second photo) and barely noticeable from a distance next to another plate (minifigure photo). Glitter: Super shiny! I really wish the unbranded cymbals were like this, but I haven't found one yet that isn't. I can quickly apply a matte spray to reduce it. Addendum: I have not had any trouble pulling off plates, rivets, bricks or LEGO minifigures. I attached four panels of 2x2 gray tiles and had no problems (despite the square corners of the eKind panel - square corners can tend to mess things up a bit). Thickness: Same thickness as the LEGO baseplate, but thicker. It's probably the plastic used. Other plates are thicker and cannot be used with other LEGO base plates. They work great. I laid quite a few tiles and bricks along the joint between this plate and the LEGO plate - no problem with the height difference. Overall: These are good baseplates. The shine can probably be removed with a matting spray. The price for 4 is great. The color isn't immediately noticeable (at least on sand - I'm looking for a dark gray, we'll see). You shouldn't have any problems with rocks or tiles appearing. If you're willing to accept that not all of your LEGO City will be a LEGO product, then these baseplates are a great choice.
