I purchased this antenna as part of a project to enable Apple CarPlay in my 2015 BMW 420i Grand Coupe. My car came from the factory with an NBT EVO head unit and iDrive4 software. This meant CarPlay wasn't an option. I had to update the software to ID6 and also install a Wi-Fi antenna on the back of the head unit (BMW only uses wireless CarPlay. No USB option. So a Wi-Fi antenna is needed). Put simply, it works great. The only thing that confuses me is that the connector is straight and not L-shaped like the OEM antenna. I will attach some photos to show what I mean. There is little space behind the head unit. I feel like there can be quite a bit of flex and compression at the end of the cable due to its straight design. We'll see if that becomes a problem over time.
