I commute to work and drive around town instead of looking for parking as much as possible. I did a lot of research to bring my 28 pound, 22 month old son with me now that the terrible winter is (hopefully) over. My office bike rack probably has 4-6 different types of racks/trailers parked on a regular basis. I asked the owners for their personal feedback and everyone was satisfied; however, both YEPP owners were EXTREME. Now I understand why! I struggled a bit with the price (especially as I had to buy a new hybrid style bike to handle the extra load) but after a week of use I can say the peace of mind from one so well constructed and well - engineered seat (and a happy camper!), it was worth it! Installation was easy! I had a problem because I didn't want to buy a bike that didn't fit the seat, but I wasn't able to try it out before buying (I have a good relationship with my bike shop, so I wasn't particularly concerned, but still.). There was enough space in the mounting adapter for narrower or wider tubes - no problem. Another problem I encountered was where to carry my lock as the previous U-Lock holsters were in the same place. I found another type of lock that attaches to the down tube (I think it's called). I ride bike lanes around town and the bright orange YEPP seat seemed the safest (but not ugly - actually pretty cool). I'm looking for an option for myself. I'm not worried about being invisible and the weight distribution took a lot of getting used to. It would be nice if there was a clip or strap to attach my flashing taillight, but instead I clip it to my helmet or backpack. I worried that my son wouldn't be able to see very well or that my backpack would be right in front of his face. Thankfully, the seat isn't far away, so leaning forward on the flat handlebars seems like there's plenty of room, and (for now) it's so excited to ride and wave at pedestrians/traffic that it doesn't seem to be a problem. Should last another year or two. Finally, the YEPP seat is so easy to remove/install that I have no problem removing it for my typical solo commute and reinstalling it at the weekend or in the evenings when needed. One caveat: the adapter can hide the saddle bolt, so make sure the saddle is set exactly where you want it before installing the adapter. Otherwise you may need an allen wrench with some play to adjust. Recommended to my brother and neighbors who have children of the same height/age and I am really excited about this purchase!
