I had one of these cases for a year and a half when I dropped it from a high place to decorate a wedding and the clip broke which I fasten at the waist on the back body. The phone and the rest of the body were unaffected. I have used the phone with the regular case which is fine on its own but I need a second security clip on the case so I ordered this and it fits. The old case has been discontinued and replaced with this case. I continue to use the original part of the phone case and the back clip along with it. I wish they had a way to replace just the clip on the lid. I've dropped my phone many times and never had a problem. I like this case because you can rotate your phone inside the case for protection and it has a top clip to keep it from falling out and easy to remove if needed. The back clip attaches to my waist while I work around the house. This back/front clip is optional to use whenever you want and the phone case is great even without it. You can use any method.
