Review on STARESSO Espresso Machines Portable Detachable by Donald Gore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This portable espresso spritzer is AWESOME!

All I can say is wow. I am in the process of retiring my previous portable coffee/espresso press. This one has a few more details and is a bit larger, but the quality of the drawn espresso combined with the Staresso grinder (I ordered it at the same time) makes a very nice double shot of very thick espresso. The operation is very simple, cleaning is also simple, but there are still a few parts to wash. Everything that comes into contact with water or coffee powder, from seals to filters, is disassembled for cleaning. I washed mine with soap and boiled water before use as it had that slightly oily film from production. It also gives you a good idea of how it works and builds pressure with a real grind before first use. It takes several pumps to prime the system (about 20 priming pumps) and pressurize the system before the outlet valve releases water into the powder chamber and sets the maximum pressure. Then wait for the pump pressure to change as you pump continuously and then you will know that the water will no longer be pressurized as you will see that there is some left over when you unscrew the water chamber pump cap. Things to remember when cleaning and assembling: - Thoroughly clean the stainless steel filters as in the previous case. can clog tiny holes and prevent proper pressurization of the device, and water will not flow through efficiently. - The device will not assemble properly if any components are in the wrong order or sequence. You'll see what I mean when I twist parts and the parts don't fit properly, like tightening something with a gasket. If the seals are installed incorrectly or are missing, the parts will simply be loose and rattle. It only takes a few uses to get the hang of it, but it's very easy to use. The device works great! The material looks like a super-tough fiber-reinforced plastic so it's fairly durable, and the frame's folding legs are powder-coated die-cast aluminum. There are safety locks on the frame to prevent it from collapsing under downward pressure, so you don't have to worry about collapsing. The bottom lid/cup is made of stainless steel and lined with silicone to ensure a secure fit and prevent burns. This is a well built/thought out press and I would highly recommend it.

Pros
