Review on Continental Ride Trekking Bicycle 26X1 75 by Barry Hill

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great tire! Some discs may be narrower than stated.

I originally bought a 700 x 28 set but returned it because the width according to my digital caliper was narrow at 25mm and 9 percent narrower than advertised. I then ordered a set of these tires in 700x32, and while I'm keeping them, they also come in a narrow 27mm dimension, about 8 percent narrower than advertised. As a guide, I run these tires on a set of Sun CR18 rims, which have an approximate internal bead width of 17mm. This is important because the width of the mounted tire depends on the inside width of the rim flange. A tire mounted on a wider rim is generally wider than if it were mounted on a narrower rim. , and the Sun CR18 rims don't have a large center cutout/channel to make assembly easier. The ease or difficulty of tire fitting is a combination of factors; Tire bead tolerance, rim tolerance and above all assembly skills. I've worked at a few bike shops, changed a lot of tires on a lot of rims, and required tools (a tire lever or a bead lever) about 5 percent of the time. I finally bought this tire because I like the distinctive tread pattern. narrower tire and Conti has been my favorite brand for quality and price for over 10 years. They're a little heavy: Actual weight of 624 grams for a 700x32 size, but they're a good substitute for the deep profile and strong sidewall construction.
