Review on AMCSXH Spy Hidden Wall Clock Camera: HD 1080P WiFi Security Camera for Home and Office, Nanny Cam/Pet Cam, Remote-Real Time Video, iOS/Android Compatible by Deb Wach

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very hidden camera and cute watch

I chose 5 instead of 4 because a small password reset problem was not worth a star. Given that connectivity devices can be really problematic. This device was pretty slim and straight forward. In the beginning there were some difficulties. First, this is a beautiful wall clock. And if you don't know where the camera is, you won't see it. The camera is so tiny and well hidden. Although the clock comes with a USB cable, it appears to be 2 meters, and a power adapter for the cable, the clock only runs on one AA battery. So you can connect to the mains and have the camera function but not the clock until you add an AA battery. This was easily recognized by my wifi phone as the instructions said it would have CL, or, I forgot the other prefix, I think it could have been KL, and one of those followed by a long string of numbers . Clicking on that Wi-Fi signal from your phone connects very quickly. You can see what the camera sees and take screenshots. I didn't have a micro SD card, so I couldn't test the storage function. This part was easy. Initially I had trouble connecting it to my wifi. I knew how it should work. So, after downloading the app that this device requires from the Google Play Store, you also have the option to download it from the manufacturer's website. I just felt safer getting it from Google. So, here's how it should be. When you open the app, you will be prompted to change the default camera password. I have made. Then there are many sub-settings in the camera settings. Then in the Wi-Fi settings select your Wi-Fi from the drop down list and also your password in the box below so it can connect to your Wi-Fi. I'll add, you have the option to only connect to your phone and not to your wifi. But I chose the WiFi option. So after I detected my network and entered the Wi-Fi password, the camera connected to my Wi-Fi and told me it was successful and gave me the option to save the information. The camera rebooted and asked for the camera password, which previously asked me to change it. He kept telling me it was the wrong password. I tried several times before resetting with the tool that came with it. I went back to the step to change the camera password. This time it worked. So, although a little disappointed, it works perfectly now. Motion sensor turned on in alarm settings. LAUGH OUT LOUD. Just back in the room, my phone fired about 20 shots. I first set the sensitivity to maximum to see how well it works. There are some sensitivity settings. It seems 8 as far as I remember. I suspect you tone it down when you have animals so you don't get bombarded with photos all the time. I was surprised at how many customization options it had. You can even set an alarm time. I am impressed with the number of features and how beautiful this watch looks. Very cool look. The only complaint I have is that the panel on the back of the watch only opens 65-70 degrees. You have a place to connect a USB cable to the clock and install a micro SD card, but it would be nice if this cover could be removed or opened wider. Far from being a deal breaker as you won't be opening this panel on a regular basis. You can't even change the battery in your watch. This would be great for many applications. In the kids room, living room etc LOL, or in the kitchen to spy on your significant other to see what he is cooking. I like this device and recommend it. I will say that I haven't checked the picture quality in the dark, so I'm not sure if he will be able to see alone in the dark.
