I'm not new to installing these things, I've done it in my other homes etc in the past. I really wish this set would work, but it didn't work properly. The problem isn't with the installation process or whatever, the problem is that when you have a door that stops and when you try to step on the lever to stop (raise) the door it won't go up. It will get stuck and the only way to do this is to lean forward and do it by hand but lift the doorstop. Great if you are young or in excellent yoga health but not as you age and have back pain. easy, so you want to rely on being able to just step on the lever to raise the doorstop, but that's not going to work. I believe this is a mechanical flaw in the design or construction of this item. And although I got 2 sets, both failed in the same area where going down just doesn't go up. One of them broke through the plane trying to lift it with his foot, the other simply refuses to even get up. So I will return them and look for something more reliable for this task. I really wish they would work for me as I have two doors (front and back) where a doorstop would be useful and useful but unfortunately they didn't make it into the rankings. And now, reading customer reviews, it seems I'm not the only one with this problem. Hopefully the company will investigate this a bit more and see if there's a bad batch or just a bad design or whatever.
