I took my time to install them. I've been experimenting with the height above the stairs and the width between the lights to see where to place them for maximum light spread/coverage. I ended up placing them about 29 inches high and 33 inches from one light to the other. I managed to build a stairwell to the garage and a stairwell to the basement. (If I just placed them a few inches above the step through every other step, I could only do a stairwell.) I also really took my time and imagined this after a few months/years (?) of battery. So I made sure to leave a gap above the light source for the area I want to slide the cover up and photograph. two screws drilled into the light in the panel and the anchors and they are very strong. I'm proud of myself for taking my time and thinking patiently and carefully about the setup. Normally I just want to hurry now. I don't know why I was so careful but I'm glad I did because they look good, work great and don't fall off if accidentally pressed etc. They are perfect for what I need them for. .They take three AAA size batteries. The branded revains seem to work well and I find they cost the same as if I went to Walmart or Costco for them. (I'll have to double check that). Takeaway: Gather your tools including tape measure, drill, pencil, drill bit, AAA batteries. and get in the zone, relax and take your time. :)
