Very happy with this product. I didn't have an existing C-cable to connect my new smart Wi-Fi thermostat to. I have wanted for a long time. My bedroom is getting hot and who wants to get out of bed and go downstairs to adjust the thermostat when trying to sleep? I didn't even know I didn't have one until I was about to put in a new thermostat. This is my first time hooking up a thermostat so it was a great learning experience. Wire C is the 24V power supply for your new thermostats. My house is quite old, originally it had an old thermostat with a mercury switch. This thing is easy to connect, it has two wires, you can use one to power input C and the other. He had to go to RC. I assume it should be for grounding. The length of the cable more than promised me. Connecting the wire to the thermostat was not easy. I have a hole in the wall, the wires go behind the wall and down to the basement where there is a small hole in the floorboards. I can't believe I succeeded but it really worked and it didn't even take long with my daughter's help. I took a fishing line, attached a lead to the end and stuck it through a hole in the wall. It fell to the ground and I asked my daughter to move it until I saw it and grabbed it with very narrow needle nose pliers. Once I had it in the basement I wrapped and zipped the C-wires shut so they couldn't get lost and routed them back through the wall. It really worked. I ended up running wires up the ceiling of my basement and plugging them into an outlet down there on the wall so they couldn't be accidentally pulled out. Now I can change the temperature on my thermostat without getting out of bed. This thing worked great for me, I had just a little experience hooking it up and was able to do it perfectly and safely. The price is fair. Saved my day.
