Review on 🧩 High-Performance Mechanical Puzzle Assembly Constructor by Chris Peck

I bought it because I like collecting these models. I've built about 12 similar models but from a different company. The quality of the wood is the same as in similar models, no serious defects or knots in the wood were found during assembly. Having built several of these models, I wish there were some "wooden model best practices" in the instruction manual. For example, let the tree sit for about 3 days before building it, make sure you sand down the notches on the retaining tabs, and lubricate the gears with paraffin wax. None of these points are mentioned in the instructions. In fact, there are no written instructions in the manual. Another big disappointment (and why I'm deducting 1 star) is that the instruction manual wasn't any QA at all. So here's what the instructions are NOT telling you. Steps #15 and #19 must be done twice! This means that after completing step 21 you should have 4 gears (the instructions make absolutely no mention of having to build each gear twice). Step #37 should be done twice! Make sure you read the instructions for about 2 pages. forward before you collect anything. There are several steps that need to be performed in a different order. Make sure you have glue on hand. The toothpick holes should friction fit, but the holes are too large to accommodate the fact that toothpicks vary slightly in diameter. So you'll either have to find a toothpick that's the right size for the hole, or stick one on. If they made the friction fit holes about 0.5mm smaller it would fix this problem. (why I'm taking off another star) If the faucet isn't the model you're really looking for, for the price you're better off looking for another major competitor in mechanical wooden models as they have better instructions and better friction tolerances. matching parts and enough material to complete the model. As another reviewer noted, I was very disappointed that the boxes pictured on the box and on the website are NOT included. So you ONLY pay for the tap. It's a shame considering my crane has nothing left to lift now! (Why was the third star taken off.) I hope this helps someone, I'm going to the store to buy some rope to finally finish the model.
