This is a nice large model which took my 8 year old son about 5 hours to assemble. I helped a little. Laser cutting of wood, design and all mechanisms are very well thought out. The cuts are incredibly precise. The faucet works fine when finished. That is very cool. I would say the threads in the kit should be about twice as thick, this is a very fine sewing thread. I really enjoyed building this model! I knew it was going to be so difficult or challenging, but I loved it and the hours and hours it took to complete. You won't believe how many pieces there are or how many toothpicks they include. It took me a good week to work several hours at a time because I was spending my time sanding and waxing everything, so be careful not to rush every little detail if you want it to really work if you are done. I bought it because I like collecting these models. I've built about 12 similar models but from a different company. The quality of the wood is the same as in similar models, no serious defects or knots in the wood were found during assembly. Having built several of these models, I wish there were some "wooden model best practices" in the instruction manual.
