I bought the item for cycling. It did a great job with heart rate monitoring and it was easy to pair with my phone and Garmin software. This product is really designed for training. You can't expect a real smartwatch like the Apple Watch or Samsung. That being said, all the apps that work with it have something to do with sports for me and I found them to work very well. There are two areas where I think the watch could be better for the money. The screen is not very contrasty or at least does not compete with Apple, Samsung and other premium products. I realize this watch is a few years old and I haven't checked out the latest version to see if it's any better. It's still bright and readable in the sun. Second, the charging port is oddly placed on the back of the watch and it's also non-magnetic, requiring a dedicated cable. In order to charge the watch, it must not lie flat except on the face, not ideal. There are several ways to charge pads that I haven't tried yet. Another plus: the battery life is excellent, even with GPS and Bluetooth on.
