Review on 🪚 6-Teeth KOWOOD Turbo Carving Disc (Curve) for Woodworking by Eddie Man

I bought this saw blade mainly for planing small logs before milling. I also plan to try power carving. As others have noted, the notch in the disc (38mm) is too small to fit a nut on most 4½" angle grinders with a 5/8" spindle. I knew this beforehand, so I bought a non-original nut to fit the recess. One star off for custom sizes. The rest of the drive works fine. I've used it on maple and alder. It moves through wood and bark in a predictable manner. I've mostly used it on clean, straight grain wood. Final grit is slower but doable. I have rarely used the disc on branches, lumps or uneven grit. Carbide blades spinning at 10,000 rpm are no joke. Use caution and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. If you tilt the sander forward so that the top edge of the disc touches the wood surface, the disc pulls from right to left. In this orientation, the blade will cut predictably as the tool moves from left to right. The principle is the same as when using a router: The easiest way to control the tool is when it moves against the tension of the cutting edge. Even though I'm right-handed, I added a side handle to the right side of the grinder. God forbid if the disc ever grabs hard enough to snatch the grinder out of my hands, I hope it moves right to left, away from my body and away from my side grip.
