Broken gate valve repaired in an old barn

We got a barn together with the house. I hate steel awnings like these because it always seems like the doors never slide very easily and are difficult to open and close. In fact, I prefer resin awnings. But as said the barn comes with the house and of course it fits perfectly in the place where it is placed and that becomes difficult as that place cannot be changed to accommodate a different size barn due to the fence. As a result, I tried my best to just "live with it" until I could afford to pay someone to redo the fence, pour concrete, etc. and increase the space for a better barn. Remember, the shed has my daughters' bikes, roller skates, skateboards, tires, sidewalk chalk, etc. and a bunch of stuff that belongs to me. My daughters have to open and close doors from time to time and they managed to disable the door on more than one occasion. Finally after living here for 3 years one of the sliders broke completely and I needed spare parts to fix it. I came across these parts here at Revain and decided to take a chance. I really only needed the slider parts and nothing else, but since I couldn't find just those parts on my own, this was the next best option. Installation: It was a pain. To remove the old sliders I had to bend a piece of metal rail to get them out. Fitting the new gliders to the track was also a challenge, although the curved track made it easier to fit them into their house/slot on the track. However, once I got them on track, it wasn't that hard to align the door and screw on the hardware to hold the door on the slider. I then bent the bottom metal rails/rails so that the sliders (hopefully) don't come out again. I then taught my daughters (AGAIN!) how to open and close the door so hopefully she wouldn't "hop" down the sidewalk anymore. Note: I decided to swap out both sliders on the damaged door and keep the other one. two sliders for later. Since the sliders worked and my door is working properly again, I am giving this product 4/5 stars. I'm deducting 1 star because of the fit and the price (price because I should be able to buy the sliders myself and not have to pay for other parts that I don't really need).

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
