Mastering a trackball mouse can take about a month. For weeks I've been trying to get used to the new way of moving the cursor around the screen, but once you get it set up you won't want to go back to your old mouse. I had this mouse, I lost it, I don't know when or where, during one of my trips, and then I ordered this updated one (taking a risk). It came in a simple, tiny mailer box with a mouse, cable, and USB pooling receiver. I don't know if I'll ever use a USB receiver because that little key gets encrypted (okay, I said the word, but you get my meaning) when there's another USB connection to an external hard drive. I think it messes up the 2.4GHz frequency and the mouse stutters and lags like crazy. Once you remove the USB drive, it works as usual. Bluetooth doesn't seem to have this problem. This mouse is working great so far, although it's missing the other plate that came with the new box I bought new a few years ago. So far, so good! Update: I bought it on September 28, 2020 and the mouse battery died twice. already, and yet there is not even two months' possession of it. I will never buy refurbished items again, very disappointed. I read on the Logitech website that the battery should last at least 4 months with daily use and I'm missing a month.
